Temperature!

Temperature is a measure of the average kinetic energy of an individual atom or molecule in a substance.  When the temperature rises, energy is transferred to the gas atoms and molecules in air which causes the particles to move faster and the air temperature to rise.  What is the hottest day you have experienced? How did the high temperature make you feel?

  1. The hottest day I have experienced was a couple of summers ago when the temperature reached to around 100 degrees. It was the hottest day in that year. I was on a fieldtrip with my summer camp and I got over heated. The high temperature made me feel very uncomfortable. I got light headed and almost passed out. I had to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.

  2. I have experienced so many hot days that I can't remember which was the hottest. Though I do remember going to my fifth grade's county field day. The day was not the best. We didn't get water supplied, food, and for the worst part I had to run! I had on a headband that day and when I took it off I noticed that I had gotten a tan! When I looked in the mirror, I looked like two-toned chocalate pudding.

  3. I've definitly experienced many different hot days since I love going to the beach, but I remember one day in particular. It was a hot summer day last year so me, Garner, and some other people decided to go to Jockey's Ridge. We went to Jockey's Ridge so that we could go swimming in the sound behind it since the ocean was full of jelly fish! We were on Jockey's Ridge walking for about an hour. I got so hot and thirsty that it felt like we were in the desert. When we got back to the beach house, we were so hot that we jumped in the ocean even though it was full of jelly fish!

  6. I've been through very many hot days but the hottest I have ever experienced was probably when I had a soccer tournament and it was about 98 degrees in VA. My whole soccer team was not looking forward to playing the games in the afternoon right about when it was it's hottest. We all had sunburn and were worn out from the sun.

  7. I remember one day last year it was around 85 degrees. The heat was unbearable; it seemed that the air conditioner wasn't even enough. It was impossible to be outside without having a cold drink to keep you hydrated. I love summer, but the temperatures are the only issue. Sometimes it is just way too HOT!

  8. The hottest day i have experienced is 103 degrees. The heat and humidity made it unbearable to do anything outside, and I had to drink lots of water. I felt dehydrated wherever I was, and all i wanted to do was block out the sun.

  9. I do not specifically remember any particular hot days, but I do remember how I felt on these days. I usually want to sit down and not do anything. I do not like to be around people because I will get irritated quickly.

  10. The hottest day I've ever experienced was a little while back at my sixth grade field day. I overheat pretty easily so I try to stay inside on hot days. On this day I had two events and the first one was pretty early so I got through that one fine. Not too long later I started to feel extremely uncomfortable and had to go inside a lot to get water cause I had run out. I eventually had to go inside all together before the second event I had because I was about to completely overheat. Pretty much it was really uncomfortable and I felt like I was about to pass out so I would like never to experience that again, although it does happen almost that bad a lot.
